The Year of the Horse
Winter's icy grip begins to envelop the land but we remain steadfast in our knowledge and in our practice.
We know that connection to the prenatal Qi to strengthen our life force, and to invigorate our kidneys (seat of our vital Qi energy) will see us through not only healthily but with good wit too!
So we are advised to adjust to and flow with the Yin season of winter, keep warm and protected from the cold and damp, remain restful and consolidate our Qi with our Hua Gong practice.
The ancient Chinese sage reminds us "The wise nourish life by flowing with the four seasons, and adapting to cold or heat, joy or anger in a tranquil dwelling, by balancing Yin and Yang and what is hard and soft. So it is that dissolute evil cannot reach the man of wisdom and he will witness to a long life" Huangdi Neijing
Calligraphy of the Month...Tune in and receive the Transmission
Below is a Qi Calligraphy from Zhixing. It is possible to tune into the embedded Transmission by looking at the image and responding naturally. You may begin to feel the energy, the rising joy, the warmth or even a change in breathing. Emotions may also arise, or a desire to move--all or any of these signal that you are connecting to the pre natal Qi energy. So tune in and see what you can experience
This is an image painted spontaneously in a state of Qigong showing the centre or source of the Cosmic Light which is the initial power of creation. According to the Bible, Light is the first thing that God created. Because of the existence of Light, other things become possible.
So Light is the initial energy that makes non-living and living beings alike possible. It is the spirit of all existence including human beings. It would be a good daily practice of Hua Gong to relate mentally to this image.
Stillness in Motion
The Advanced Hua Gong Forms retreat recently held at St Katharine's of Parmoor was a most wonderful and liberating experience for us all. This technique fairly turbo charged our ability to "earth" and "walk" and to experience "Stillness in Motion." We will have more to write/speak about this Form in the near future and some poetry from one of us about the experience.

Winter Solstice Meditation with Zhixing
Date: December 21st Time: 11pm-1am GMT
Connect and tune into an Internal Alchemy meditation with Zhixing on the Solstice. It is a long tradition that all of us Hua Gong students connect and experience the Internal Alchemy energy as it pervades the universe at the Solstice. This is the turning point of the year, representng an "in between time" and with this meditation we can cultivate the return of the Yang Qi in the body. Meditation at this time according to the Daoist canon is particularly effective for rejuvenation, kidney energy strengthening, and even extraordinary powers. Try experiencing it using your Internal Alchemy DVD or simply tune in.
May we take this opportunity to wish you and your friends and family a happy Christmas, a fun filled festive season and great connection.
