Half-Price Massages Courtesy of Fillmore Arts Center in May!
Now that I have your attention....
This is the last weekend to sign up for wind power
through Clean Currents. In January we were were at 7 sign-ups and I thought we were fine, but now with three days left we are at ONLY 9 sign-ups and our goal was 25 sign-ups!
I spoke with some parents at Key and Stoddert this week at morning drop-off and will be going door to door if I have to! I urge everyone who has signed up please call two other families in your school community and tell them about your experience and how easy it is! I don't want to miss out on this potential donation of over $600
for Fillmore Arts Center.
The moment is NOW. All sign-ups must be completed by Earth Day (April 22nd).
Please forward this message to anyone you can. It doesn't have to be just DCPS families, anyone in the District or Maryland can sign up! Remember say Friends of Fillmore in the box "How I heard about this" when you register!
Use this link
, have your Pepco account number and you'll be supporting clean, green, renewable energy in no time. What a great way to celebrate our planet and your child's future living on it!
And I wasn't kidding about the massages
The first three
people who read this email, sign up for wind power (must be by Sunday!), and email me their name and address will get a voucher for a half-price massage
from The Spa Room
, located just down from Tenley Circle on Wisconsin Avenue. (I will need to confirm your sign-up with Clean Currents prior to sending you the voucher.)
Fillmore Arts Center is The Spa Room's non-profit partner for the month of May. This means Fillmore will have a discount code that provides a 20%-$5 of the price paid as a cash donation to us for everyone who mentions it AND the code entitles the purchaser to receive $5.00 off their service
. STAY TUNED for the code coming in May!
HomeMade Pizza Night, Part II
Well, this didn't seem quite as fully participated in as our first one which raised OVER $1000. I think we now know that a Pizza Night prior to folks heading out for Spring Break made it fall off the radar, but we still got $352 more dollars into the Fillmore coffers, so THANKS to everyone who participated. I can fully recommend the Quattro Stagioni pizza, and that's saying a lot since I lived in Rome for over two years.
Mark Your Calendars!
We have a bunch of events coming up this Spring. First up are the Spring Arts Show on Friday, May 11, 5-7:30pm, 3rd Floor of Fillmore and the Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 15, 7pm in the Fillmore/Hardy Auditorium. Find all event dates will be on the Friends of Fillmore Calendar page, so you don't miss a thing!
Also, please give your congratulations to Principal Latterner the next time your see her, as she has become a Grandma two times over in the month of April.
Remember, the arts make us smarter (Check out this link for 10 reasons why),
