Do you have unwanted tree saplings growing in your yard?
ORPHAN SAPLING TREES NEEDED
When gardening this spring, Beacon Hill residents are encouraged to dig up any stray (orphaned) baby tree saplings and give them a new home at the Experimental Farm. Any kind of tree is welome! Deciduous or coniferous, your saplings can be of any species and sizes as small as 15cm or as large as 200cm!
The Experimental Farm is accepting potted orphan saplings the weekend of Saturday, May 7th and Sunday May 8th, from 10am – 4pm. Pot them and bring them over to the Experimental farm!! Feel free to donate any of your unused plant pots of various sizes as well!
If you require help to remove, pot or transport your sapling please contact Ecology Ottawa at info@ecologyottawa.ca or 613-860-5353 as arrangements are being made for assistance the following weekend of May 14th and 15th. Also, volunteers are required for removing and potting larger saplings. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Ecology Ottawa at info@ecologyottawa.ca or 613-860-5353
