Global Volunteer Month
We want to send a special thank you during Global Volunteer Month to all of our volunteers who make an incredible impact on our watershed. When we advocate for safe and sustainable use of the Red River in our community, we are also caring for the quality of water in other cities, states, and countries. It has been evident in this current pandemic situation, we are all connected.  #RKThanks

Storm Drain Community Art Project Call
for Artists and
Moorhead Neighborhood Block Clubs

River Keepers has received a grant from the Moorhead Community Fund to organize a Storm Drain Community Art Project which will utilize Neighborhood Block Clubs paired with an artist to design art around a neighborhood storm drain.  See examples from other cities on the right.  This project will raise awareness about stormwater pollution and the effect it has on the Red River, our drinking water source.  The goal is to have 4 community art pieces by 4 different artists or 4 community art pieces by the same artist.
The neighborhood will brainstorm ideas of what their neighborhood means to them and what a design could entail.  The artist(s) will provide neighborhood block club two designs to choose from.  The artist will paint the chosen art around the storm drain.

A stipend will be paid to participating artists.  Artists should apply by May 15 by emailing two images of previous work and a resume (no more than 2 pages, PDF or Word Doc.) to .

Interested Neighborhood Block Clubs should contact Christine Holland, River Keepers Executive Director, at or 701.235.2895 to let us know how many people you anticipate could participate from your block club and the general location of your block club.  #SustaintheRed
