Award Winners

Education Award
River Keepers 2019 Education Award was presented to FM Walleyes Limited, Inc. Dave Wasness, Youth Education Coordinator, and Carl Wasness accepted the award. This award recognizes outstanding leadership in education that has contributed to a better understanding of the water resource and the impact of the Red River on the area's history, environment, and recreation. We appreciate their partnership in coordinating youth fishing clinics, their enthusiasm for teaching people about fishing and their assistance in increasing appropriate recreational the use of the Red River.
Friend of the River Award
Our 2019 Friend of the River Award was presented to the Fargo Moorhead Trailbuilders. This award recognizes outstanding work efforts in promoting the goals of River Keepers. They characterize the description of this award because of their work in maintaining and increasing appropriate recreational use of the Red River. We would like to thank the Fargo Moorhead Trailbuilders for their continued hard work on maintaining trails and engaging the community in outdoor recreation, and we especially like that it is along the Red River. Jason Artley, their president, accepted the award.

Volunteer of the Year Award
Our 2019 Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to MacDalton Berns on behalf of Absolute Marketing Group. This award recognizes outstanding volunteer work in promoting the goals of River Keepers. We are very grateful that MacDalton chose to share his time and talents with River Keepers. He and his team created a revised logo (which we LOVE), new slogan (which has been really easy to tie in to all of our outreach), communication strategies related to membership (we now have a recurring membership option), and a brand etiquette guide (which has made our marketing material look so much better). Thank you so much for taking River Keepers to the next level and making it easier for our outreach materials to look more professional.
