Silver and Gold - and Followers
Isn't that what it's all about, boys & girls?
Silver. Gold. Followers.
Or did I not get the memo yet again..?? Wow, I must missing out - not chasing the almighty $ nor recruiting followers (alas, of what type?) on our ever-so naughty and UN-social media platforms..
'Tis the season for reflection, as well as for giving.
Click above on the wonderfully disturbing image of the brilliant English book illustrator Arthur Rackham for a classic yule tune from the one and only Burl Ives.
Then, per the norm - pipe your way back CS' way for some pre-Christmas ideas, insight and inspiration for your upcoming strolls in the golf park, and upon life's daily sidewalks.
For silver and gold"
Ah... but for what purpose? To what's end? More, more - and more, more?
And you with your golf game? Wishing, hoping and floating around, following a self-anointed expert's agenda, opinion or bias - or actually taking concrete steps to improve? Your choice.
What about less? Less to think about when you swing a golf club, 'cause the sticks in your hand, your physical body, and your oh-so unsexy set-up are in tact.
Are yours, pray tell? If not, please do let me know and I'd be happy to help guide you in the right direction. And no fairy tales, honest.
"How do you measure
Or yours, for that matter? How much you have in the bank? How many awards, recognitions and accolades come your way? How many followers (hideous in nature, or other) you accrue?
And wealth and riches in general my fellow humans: how much you have, or how little you need? Keep in mind - whatever you don't want, you already have.
Then... how do you measure your golf game? Score? Camaraderie? General fun? The latter two are beautifully illustrated in Rackham's Winter Frolic watercolor just north of here on your screen.
The irony? Enjoy the company while acknowledging, enjoying and embracing the challenges of the game, and your scorecard shall prosper.
"Just by the pleasure
It gives here on Earth?"
Perhaps you've simply forgotten how fortunate you are to be part of the dance known as a round of golf..?? So many not hearing the music at all, and unable to join the linksy party.
Technique-wise, once you've got your mechanics, footwork and motion honed - please don't forget there is a tempo, rhythm & fluidity to each and every golf swing. Like a fingerprint, your 'harmonic oscillator' must be optimized (like our Pied Piper up top) for optimal performance; 'resonate' at a frequency that fits you.
Confused? I understand. In search of clarification? Click on the dance party above for some legit enlightenment (in lay terms, no less) from rockstar Yale University physicist Bob Grober.
Interested in guidance not geared for (nor attracting) the masses (you are, after all, a case study of one)? I'm here for you.
At Eugene Country Club, and part-time at Puerto Los Cabos in the wintry months. I also offer remote coaching plans wherever you may be. Click below on either spectacular venue for specifics.
