1. Documentary Premiere and QA -24 October. 6.30pm -8.30pm

We are proud to partner with Stand With Congo and invite you to the London premiere of When Elephants Fight, a documentary on how multinational corporations and corrupt politicians in Democratic Republic of the Congo threaten human rights, narrated by Robin Wright, House of Cards.

This event is free and open to all with no ticket or pre-registration required. Entry is on a first come, first served basis.

Nat Dyer is Campaign Leader for the DR Congo team at Global Witness. He has been working on environmental and anti-corruption issues in West and Central Africa for over 10 years.
 
Bandi Mbubi is Director of Congo Calling working for the ethical management of natural resources in the DRC.
 
JD Stier is an award-winning producer and campaign director, and is President of Stier Forward based in New York City.
 
Armine Ishkanian is Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

2. Denise Epote of TV5 Monde Interviews PCAP Director   

Following a recent trip to France, the PCAP Director was the guest of Et Si Vous Me Disiez la Vérité, a TV5 Monde Afrique programme hosted by the renowned journalist Denise Epoté. Leadership in central Africa, education and engagement of African citizens were the main topics discussed.

Those of you who are fluent in French may click here to watch the 13-minute programme and share your views with TV5 Monde.

The partnerships and projects resulting from this visit to France will be communicated to you in due course.

3. Public Speaking, Motivation, Self-Confidence and Other Courses for Professionals and Young People
 
Our partner organisation, Medzan Training, is offering outstanding courses for professionals and young people who feel the need to boost their leadership, self-confidence, motivation, public speaking skills and other qualities.

5. Hackney Community Law Centre- Immigration Sollicitor  
 
Key duties:
  • To provide specialist casework and representation in all areas immigration and asylum law in CLR and certificated work including judicial reviews and Upper Tribunal appeals to Court of Appeal.
  • To ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency contract and funding requirements.
  • To attract and generate private client work.
  • To be familiar with SRA requirements.

6. CA Technologies- Account Manager 

CA Technologies provides IT management solutions that help customers manage and secure complex IT environments to support agile business services.

Reporting directly to the Sr Sales Director of Spain, the Account Manager will be dedicated to 4 historical customer accounts mostly in Banking. This position is responsible for positively impacting the relative attributes to the account including customer satisfaction, NCV growth, share of wallet and the successful introduction of new solutions.

7. Migrants Organise- Migrants Organisers x 4  

Salary: NJC scale 32, £27,924 pro rata. With additional London Weighting (LW) for roles based in London.
 
Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week (28 hours per week for London role). Flexible hours including some evening and weekend working.
 
Duration: One year fixed term, extension subject to funding.
 
Application Deadline: 9am on 25 October
