FSANZ has released the third edition of Safe Food Australia, a guide to food safety standards found in the Food Standards Code. The third edition addresses current food safety issues and trends and can be accessed here.
Dubbed the Food Safety Hub, this online portal provides consumers and food businesses with easy to access, easy to understand information on everything from food recalls to food promoting food safety culture. Check it out here.
FSANZ has produced a handy, easy to digest resource explaining acrylamide, its possible dangers, and how to avoid them. Check it out here.
The results of an online survey into consumers’ use and understanding of food labels are now available online. The survey, commissioned by FSANZ, received almost 2500 responses with the findings adding to FSANZ’s evidence base on consumers and food labelling. Check out the results here.
FSANZ is calling for submissions on the following applications:
P1043 – Code Revision (2016): To make minor amendments to the Food Standards Code including the correction of typographical errors, inconsistencies and formatting issues and updating of references.
