Dear Friends of Terrawatu,

I hope this letter finds you and your family being safe and healthy.
Having just returned to the States from Tanzania, I am witnessing a changing country. I know it is not easy to stay calm at this moment, but I have found that counting my blessings every morning and asking "What am I grateful for?" helps a great deal.

We at Terrawatu want to share our updates with you at this time of the change of season, and let you know that we are, as always, grateful for you.

Stay safe and well.
Dr. Tanya

International Women's Day

On the 9th of March (since the 8th was a Sunday, Tanzania celebrated International Women's Day on both the 8th and 9th) the Mkonoo Women's Network came into Arusha town with the support of Terrawatu to participate in the activities of the day. Organized by the Arusha City Union of NGOs - ACUNGO - with the City Council of Arusha, events included a gathering at the stadium in town and a parade. Speakers at the stadium covered topics including human rights, how to end early marriage, stopping FGM, small business development and gender equality.

Terrawatu Project Director Ms. Angella Marcel led the group from Mkonoo in the activities. It was a productive and successful day.
