Exciting New Developments From Wolcott School
Head of School Hired
After conducting a nationwide search, we are thrilled to announce the hiring of our founding head of school, Miriam Pike. Ms. Pike currently holds the position of Special Education Department Chair at Deerfield High School in Deerfield, Illinois, where she has worked with staff members, students and their families for over 20 years. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders, a M.A. in Learning Disabilities, and a B.S. Ed. in Special Education and Elementary Education. Ms. Pike will be joining Wolcott School full time beginning in August. We are delighted with this appointment and confident her expertise and years of experience will shape Wolcott into a model of excellence in Chicago.

Why Wolcott, Why Now?
Wolcott School offers a local option for Chicago students who learn differently. Below, meet Sam and Joshua, two young men with learning disabilities who attended boarding school during their high school years, after struggling to find an appropriate school in the Chicago area.
"It would have been great to be in a high school in Chicago that supported me in the way Wolcott is planning to support its students- I would have had more time to work on my art instead of constantly going to tutors; I would have been part of a group of kids with similar issues as me. The Wolcott School Class of 2017 will be a lucky group!"
