April 22, 2016 - Agera Energy celebrated their Westchester Green Business Certification on Earth Day at their headquarters in Briarcliff Manor. To date, Agera is one of 19 organizations in Westchester County to achieve its’ green business certification, and is the first Energy Service Company (“ESCO”) within the county to become certified.

The certificate was presented to Agera CEO Steve Laker by Deputy County Executive Kevin Plunkett, John Ravitz, COO of The Business Council of Westchester and Dani Glaser, WGBC Program Director. A County Proclamation was also bestowed upon the company declaring April 22, 2016 “Agera Energy Recognition Day.”

“Congratulations to the entire team at Agera Energy that worked so hard to achieve this prestigious certification,” said County Executive Robert P. Astorino. “Agera is a fast-growing organization where employees at every level are working together to minimize their environmental impact while increasing efficiency and improving the bottom line.”

“Agera approached their Westchester Green Business-Certification with tremendous enthusiasm, positive energy and real team work. They paid meticulous attention to detail and more importantly, set the organization up for continued success on their sustainability journey,” said Dani Glaser.

“On behalf of The Business Council of Westchester, we congratulate Agera Energy on achieving Westchester Green Business-Certification. Your approach to sustainability engages staff and stakeholders to do their part and you demonstrate great leadership for the Westchester business community,” said Dr. Marsha Gordon, President & CEO, The Business Council of Westchester.

As a licensed ESCO providing electricity and natural gas supply to homes and businesses throughout New York and across the United States, Agera has been adding energy management solutions to its’ portfolio which supports their overall sustainability goals internally as well as externally.

“Providing customers with electricity and natural gas supply is our core business. However, we strive to continuously add products and services that are environmentally friendly while complementing our business model. As of recently, we added Pure Wind Renewable Energy Credits, LED retrofitting, and Demand Response to our portfolio of products.  We have found that customers in the retail energy sector are environmentally conscious and look to partner with an energy supplier that is equally responsible,” said Steve Laker, CEO of Agera Energy. He continued, “Obtaining our WGB certification has been an experience that our employees have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of.  I am proud of our team for their efforts and for demonstrating sustainability within our workplace.”
