Briefed by the Commander-in-Chief Land Forces.

Attended a meeting with Paul West, retiring Chief Constable of West Mercia Police.

Joined the launch by the Speaker of the House of Commons' Intern Scheme.

Attended the launch of the Apprentice Card.

Met with Des Clarke and Bromsgrove Society members. 

Opened the 90th anniversary celebrations of the Royal British Legion in Sanders Park.

Paticipated in the Shenstone Group meeting (of Worcestershire leaders) in Malvern. 

Met with Harry Turner and Chris Tidman of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust to discuss standards at the Alexandra Hospital.

Attended the MacMillan Cancer centenary coffee morning, the Age Concern summer garden party and the Catshill Village Fun Day.

Briefed by Michael Heseltine on the Regional Growth Fund.

Met pupils and teachers from Parkside Middle School in Westminster.

Visited the charity Community First and Finstall on Open Gardens day.

Quizzed by local business people in an MP's Question Time event.

Attended Bromsgrove’s Court Leet Fayre Day and the Queen’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.

The company Key Business Insight's "Commons Performance Cockpit" ranks MPs by their total cost - that is, staffing costs, travel expenses, office costs, salary, and so on. The majority of the 50 "most efficient" MPs, in terms of total cost, are Conservatives.

Sajid Javid, Bromsgrove MP and a former director at Deutsche Bank, said the "euro was always a bankruptcy machine" and countries should either enter a closer political union or get rid of the currency.
