Deputised for the Chancellor at ECOFIN in Brussels, a meeting of all the Finance Ministers from across the EU.
Contributed a piece to David Amess MP’s The Party of Opportunity pamphlet.
Held one of my regular Street Surgeries in Bromsgrove town centre, also attended by local District Councillors Rod Laight and Jonathan Boulter, Allan Venables, Bromsgrove Conservative Association Chairman Mark Jones and his wife Claire, and Bromsgrove’s own West Midlands MEP candidate Alex Avern.
Joined the ‘'Wear it PINK for Libby Day’ to mark what would have been the first birthday of Libby Mae Sharratt and to celebrate the success of the charity that her parents, Richard and Charlotte, set up in her memory, Libby Mae’s Little Angels.
Met Clent Parish Council's Ruth Mullet, Caroline Howard and Nick Sugden, along with 12 members of their Youth Council, in Westminster to discuss local and national politics.
Joined the Prime Minister to launch the Royal British Legion’s poppy planting campaign by planting poppy seeds with schoolchildren in the Number 10 garden.
Joined the panel on BBC One's Question Time to debate housing supply, university tuition fees, Northern Ireland and the economy.
Appointed by the Queen, on advice of the Prime Minister, as Secretary of State at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

The newsroom, complete with a new reading room and research space for the BL's news collections in St Pancras (above: Reuters), North London, is being opened tonight by Culture Secretary Sajid Javid.

This week, Sajid Javid has been to the Matisse show at Tate Modern and visited the National Gallery, Tate Britain, the British Museum, the British Library and the Government Art Collection, as well as seeing Hamlet at the Globe Theatre to celebrate Shakespeare’s birthday.
