Recent Activity
Briefed by Greg Clark MP, Minister of State for Communities and Local Government, on the Government’s new Local Enterprise Partnership initiative.
Met with Inspector Smith and Councillor Blagg to consider policing matters in Bromsgrove, visited HMP Hewell and met with the West Mercia Probation Service.
Visited the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings with Director Simon Carter to learn about its important role in preserving our heritage through rescuing historic buildings from destruction.
Attended the ceremony awarding the Freedom of the District to The Mercian Regiment and joined a private briefing in Parliament by the Chief of the Defence Staff and General Sir Richard Dannatt.
Briefed by Michael Gove MP, Secretary of State for Education, on the Government’s education reforms.
Met students from North Bromsgrove High School in Westminster, and attended and addressed Haybridge High School’s prize-giving ceremony.
Attended the inaugural meeting of the Equitable Life All Party Parliamentary Group.
Visited residents and staff at Gilbert Court, Saffron Court and Regents Court care homes, opened Pathway Care Foster Agency’s new regional support centre in Bromsgrove, visited Sunfield children’s home and attended a Primrose Hospice luncheon.
Met with representatives of the North Worcestershire School Sports Partnership, as well as the Worcestershire ME Awareness Group and the Worcestershire Association of Carers.
Was a guest speaker at the Rotary Democracy Forum in Birmingham and Policy Exchange’s “Welfare to Work” panel in London.
