Met the excellent team at Extrac Transmissions, global leaders in motor sport, gearbox and transmission systems. Delighted to also learn that not only is this company 100% employee owned, but some 90% of steel used is British!

Visited Sunfield Children's Home in Clent and discussed children's access to mental health services locally with the Principal, Caroline Bell.

Great to visit Pentland Brands with Mike Freer, MP for Finchley and Golders Green. Congratulations for winning the Queen's Awards for Innovation and Export for the fifth time.

Popped into Grafton Manor to discuss their refurbishment and new business ideas.

Visited Rotherham's Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre and met innovative new tech company MetLase.

Met with Lisa Maidment about her weight plan business, based at Beckett's Farm in Wythall.

Met apprentices from Sheffield University at their fantastic Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre. Inspiring, capable engineers of the future!

Met with Calvin Evans to discuss funding for his business in Fairfield, which has designed a chess set based on Downton Abbey and other popular characters.

Visited Betel in Alvechurch, who have just celebrated their 20th Anniversary. Congratulations!
Finally, pleased to report that unemployment remains low at just 1% and youth unemployment is down by 69% since 2010. Great progress, but as always, there is still more to do.
