Recent Activity

Joined the Jubilee celebrations at The Hub, with villagers and parish councillors in Clent and local councillors in Marlbrook, and popped in to the Jubilee choir concert at The Lawns residential care home in Alvechurch.

Visited the Cancer Research Shop in Bromsgrove town centre to take part in National Volunteers’ Week 2012.

Spoke to students from Nottingham University in Westminster.

Attended a Federation of Small Businesses meeting in Westminster.

Attended the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme reception.

Discussed local NHS issues with Penny Venables, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Visited Alvechurch Middle School and Alvechurch Library.

Visited The Lounge internet café in Alvechurch for an update from the committee.

Visited Asda and met the Store Manager, Nigel Palmer, and Community Life Champion, Dawn Baylis.  

Held my first “House Surgery” in Wthyall (please visit my website by clicking here for information about setting up a House Surgery) and a “Street Surgery” in
Barnt Green, in addition to my usual office-based advice surgeries.

Met Barnt Green parish councillors to discuss local concerns.

Attended Aung San Suu Kyi’s historic address to both House of Parliament.

Visited Wythall Library and met Manager Alyson Williams.

Open E-Lites' new headquarters in Buntsford Hill Business Park.

Joined the Court Leet Fayre Day procession.

Met Adrian Blackshaw, the Conservative candidate to be West Mercia’s Police and Crime Commissioner.

Attended the 25th anniversary lunch for the Macular Disease Society, Barnt Green branch, and made a speech.

Attended Bromsgrove School’s Commemoration Day.

Hosted a conference at the Institute for Economic Affairs with the economist Dr Arthur Laffer.

Met staff and students from Parkside Middle School in Parliament. 

Attended the Jubilee Tea Dance for pensioners at Haybridge High School.

Attended the “Worcestershire Day” event in Parliament to promote local businesses and local produce, including fudge from Fudgeheaven and beer from Bird’s Brewery, both  made in Bromsgrove.

Tea for MD - Macular Disease Society to hold event in Barnt Green
The Barnt Green Support Group of the Macular Disease Society will be celebrating the Society's 25th anniversary with a day long "Tea for MD" event on Friday, June 29 at the Friends Meeting House, Sandhills Road, Barnt Green.

Stroke services for county to be moved to Worcester
Local stroke services which are currently split between at Redditch's Alexandra Hospital and the Worcestershire Royal could all be based in Worcester under a controversial proposal to be discussed on Tuesday (May 22).
