The Pineda Family's Passion
for Serving Youth
Every person deserves a chance to thrive and needs a support system to help them on the path to success. This is especially true of the vulnerable youth in foster care. Fortunately, there are amazing families like the Pinedas who have opened their home and hearts to young people. Robbin and Ernesto Pineda have been fostering for much of their lives, and have fostered over 40 children. Currently, the family is fostering 15 youth and are in the process of adopting five siblings to join their six previously adopted children.

Their consistent dedication to providing not just a house but a home to so many children is the reason why we recently honored them at the 2019 Turning Points for Children Women’s Empowerment Luncheon. The luncheon’s focus was on passion and purpose, and the Pineda family has such an inspirational passion for the well-being of those they take in and this has become their purpose. While the Pinedas say a large family works for them, Robbin says, “It’s not about fostering 40 children and adopting 10, changing the life of just one child is important.”

The Pineda family embodies the Turning Points’ mantra of building stronger families and brighter futures. Resource Families (foster care families) are crucial to the success of youth in care. Without the love and support that they offer their children, the youth could become another statistic. Foster families, regardless of their size, are so crucial to ensuring that young people are not left without the resources they need.
