Our Wildland community unites around Nepal
Last week, as part of our Climb for Nepal campaign, we hosted a 'Nepal Night' fundraiser at Himalayan Sherpa House in Seattle. Due to the generosity of so many, our goal of raising enough funds to provide five schools in Nepal with solar power was met and surpassed!! We are happy to report that during our Nepal Night alone we were able to raise over $5,500, bringing our campaign total to nearly $10,000!
We're also excited to announce that the additional funds raised will go to build an annex on a new school being constructed in Singla. Singla is near the epicenter of last year's devastating quake and this money will go directly to giving hundreds of children an education and a brighter future.
The grand finale to our fundraising efforts will be on July 28-30th when four of our of staff set out to climb the tallest peak in Washington, Mt. Rainier.
Until then, a heartfelt "thank you" goes out to everyone who has supported our efforts thus far. Miss out on the fundraising so far? There is still time to support Climb for Nepal! Our partners in Nepal need $10,000 more to finish construction of the school, so donations are still actively being sought. Please donate generously and enjoy some Wildland schwag, all the while feeling good about supporting the children and communities of Nepal.
Keeping it wild,
