Goodbye 2018!

As we wrap up this year, we're working on a few things. Among them is reflecting on our annual meeting, welcoming new faces to the team, and watching ice form.

Annual Meeting:
Many thanks to all who participated in our annual meeting on October 16 and 17. We heard GLOS and IOOS updates, delved into conversations meant to better understand where GLOS can bring the greatest value, and discussed trends in policy, environment, and technology that could affect our vision.

As we create our next five-year plan focused on cultivating a smarter Great Lakes region, it was crucial to be able to get everyone together for such great collaboration.

The buoys are in for the year, and when our colleagues at Limnotech bring theirs back to the shop in Ann Arbor, MI, they are coated in mussels and are in need of some serious cleaning.

P.S. Overheard at the GLOS annual meeting, a phrase for the ages: "serendipitous synergy" (/ˌserənˈdipədəs/ /ˈsinərjē/): The good, unexpected things that happen when we all get together. Here's to that in 2019.
