How have you been?

I'm excited to unveil my new format to stay in touch. It felt like I was only emailing you when I wanted to tell you about a promotion or send you a random blog post and that isn't me. I want this to be a back and forth exchange between friends.

So, from now on, each week, I'll tell you what's going on with me and I hope you'll reply back and tell me how you are as well.

I'm looking forward to sharing more documentary and personal work/projects with you. Last year, I had a hard time striking the balance between being a wife, motherhood, photography and personal growth/care. I know I'm not alone, so I've decided to use these emails to share more about what's going on with me personally as well as my photography business.

A big goal of mine this year is blog consistently which is really hard for me b/c I have no idea what to write. I'm developing content for my blog this year and I'd love to know what you want to learn from me?

What are your goals for this year? Hit reply and let me know!

Talk soon.

CAPTURE OF THE WEEK: SUGAR FEIGN
Here's the story behind the capture:
Kit loves knocking things off counters. Usually, it's stuff like water bottles, loose change or jewelry. He got lucky this week. He knocked over an entire container and sugar and got him a taste.

Tip: Keep your camera or phone in an easily assessable spot. I keep mine on our bookshelf with the lens camp off. You never know when a moment is going to happen. Keep shooting even if the photo doesn't come out perfect. You'll treasure it later on.

I can't wait to show him this when he is older :)

This week's blog post: Childhood Unplugged
Honored to join Sham of the Perfect this year as a contributor. SotP is an international collaborative of documentary family photographers. I've been following this project for some time and am I excited to be a part of such a talented group. Their first blog post this year features a few words from me and the other newest members.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

By avoiding the process of creating and only consuming, you're denying the world of your gifts.
