The 2014 Legislative Session:

A Summary and Review

Friday, March 21, 2014 @ Noon
Join us as two veteran local legislators review the actions of the recently completed Oregon Legislative session.

Representatives Kevin Cameron and Brian Clem will offer their perspectives from their own unique sides of the political spectrum.  This year is the second "short" session in the recently established even-year arrangement.  What did we do or not do?  How is the annual session format working out?  How will it lead into next year's regular session?   Both Brian and Kevin are veteran City Club members, and will undoubtedly have comments for each other as we wish Kevin well upon his retirement from the Legislature.

Representative Kevin Cameron (R – District 19) joined the Oregon House of Representatives in 2005 and has served on numerous committees. During the 2011 session he served as House Republican Leader. He currently serves on the House Judiciary Committee, Transportation and Economic Development Committee, and co-chairs the Rural Communities Committee.  He was also appointed to the Joint Committee on Interstate-5 Bridge Replacement Project.

Kevin received the BS degree in Business Marketing from Oregon State University. He is the founder and CEO of Cafe Today Restaurants and Catering. He recently completed six years of service on the OSU Alumni Board and currently serves on the advisory board for Corban University’s Leadership and Political Engagement Program.

Representative Brian Clem (DDistrict 21) graduated from Oregon State University.  He worked for State Senator Cliff Trow and then for U.S. Senator Ron Wyden.  Brian served as Chair of the Oregon Student Assistance Commission and as President of the Salem City Club before resigning to serve House District 21.  In the recent legislative session, he chaired the Rural Communities Committee and served on the Health Care Committee and Agriculture and Natural Resource Committee.

Brian is the founder of OnSite PC Help, and co-founder of Pangaea Trading Company which exports Oregon goods.  He serves on the Community Council of the Willamette Academy.

Please join us Friday, March 21, 2014, as we hear from two of our local legislators. As is our tradition we meet at the Willamette Heritage Center at the Mill.   For lunch reservations, visit our web site at and register on line.  Reservations are due by noon Wednesday, March 19, 2014Parking is free.  Doors open at 11:30 AM.
