Recycle your tree

Beginning December 26, 2018, City of Austin curbside customers can recycle Christmas trees by setting them out on the curb by 6:30 a.m. on the scheduled collection day! All decorations, lights and stands must be removed from the tree. Trees with 'flocking' (artificial snow) cannot be recycled. Trees over 6-feet should be cut in half. Please do not place the tree in a plastic bag.

Not a City of Austin curbside customer? Missed your scheduled collection? — No problem! Austinites can drop-off their trees for recycling at the Zilker Park polo fields from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following dates:
  • Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018
  • Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018
  • Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019
  • Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019

Fourth Annual [Re]verse Pitch Competition seeks material suppliers

The [Re]Verse Pitch turns the tables on the traditional pitch-style competition by encouraging the repurposing of waste (from local businesses) into the foundation of new social enterprises. Local businesses, nonprofits and institutions are invited to find sustainable solutions for their unwanted materials (aka waste) by applying to be a material supplier by December 14. Know of a business which should apply? Let us know.
