Variety is the Spice of Life: SCC 40th Anniversary Show & Sale
The range and diversity of pieces in the SCC 40th Anniversary Show & Sale will take your breath away!
Internationally acclaimed ceramic artists Rod & Denyse Simair have represented Canada in major exhibitions in Europe and North America. Star Dust — their magnificent, $22,000, smoky lavender, crystalline glazed, porcelain vase — graces the gallery with its presence.
Glass artist Lee Brady’s $2,200 Lavender Moss Twist, fused and slumped glass vessel glimmers in the light. Ron Cooley’s $220 abstract photo Wet Bags is a "gritty" reflection of modern life. Ceramic artist Cec Cote’s $32 Fish dish is a charming expression of form and function.
The SCC 40th Anniversary Show & Sale is constantly changing. Walk in. Purchase a piece. Take it home with you right away. The piece is then replaced with something new and equally exciting! The Show & Sale is designed to showcase as many different pieces as possible from each member, and to feature an eclectic assortment of Fine Craft for the visiting public. Over 120 pieces by more than 60 artists will be available for purchase until August 29.
"This show and sale is giving an opportunity to artists who normally aren’t in the gallery: from those just emerging to those who are long term professional artists who do large, more expensive work."
- SCC Artist: M. Craig Campbell
