Please note that following kiddush there will be a special shiur in honor of the Bar Mitzvah by Dr. Tammy Jacobowitz. After the shiur, Mincha will take place at 1:15pm. Maariv will be at the Dukas home at 310 Johnson Avenue in celebration of Eitan's Bar Mitzvah. There will be no Maariv in shul this Motzei Shabbat.

Carlebach Minyan at Netivot Shalom The Carlebach Community of Teaneck will next join Netivot Shalom for Friday evening davening on September 4th. Mincha begins at 7:00pm.
1. Our Youth Committee is starting to prepare for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur at Netivot Shalom. As we have done in other years, we will be hiring babysitters to assist in supervising groups. We are looking for 2-3 adult babysitter with child care experience who might be able to supervise our youngest children.
2. In order to ensure that our youth have a meaningful experience on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, we are asking for parent volunteers to assist in coordinating tefilla and / or run programs in youth groups. This would involve only a short amount of time on the part of a parent volunteer but would significantly affect the children's experience of the chagim.
3. We are looking for drivers to deliver honey to members of Netivot Shalom during the week prior to Rosh Hashana. This should only take a little while of your time.
If you can assist in any of these areas, please contact Pam Scheininger at email@example.com.
Musical Kumzits & Slichot
Rabbi Yossi Pollak together with Rabbi Helfgot will lead a special musical kumzits with singing, divrei Torah, and light refreshments the first night of slichot, Motzei Shabbat, September 5 at 10:15 PM followed by slichot at 11:00 PM. Sponsors for the program are welcome and encouraged, and should contact Rabbi Helfgot or Michael Rogovin. Please join us as we join together to enter the Yamim Noraim with songs and words of yearning and spirituality.
Youth Group Leader Applications Please urge your youth, 7th grade and up, to apply to be Leaders In Training or Youth Group Leaders for this year as soon as possible. The deadline is September 1st and the schedule will be set based on applications received by that date. Any questions? Contact Pam Scheininger at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please help one of our members who cannot drive for the next 6 months and needs to get to the Bronx around 8 in the morning, returning in the late afternoon/early evening. Contact Michael Dodes at email@example.com or (201) 394-6799.
Many of you have read in the Jewish Link about the Yoetzet Halacha program in Teaneck. In it, Netivot is prominently mentioned as one of the sponsors of the program. We are very proud of our support for this important program and encourage other shuls to formally sponsor it as well. We are in the process of completing our fundraising efforts for our annual donation to the program without adversely affecting our other budgetary needs. We encourage everyone who can contribute to please send in your contribution made out to the shul with the memo note to Michael Knopf.
Members and their families are encouraged to visit patients at Care One on Shabbat afternoons (or other times during the week, if that’s more convenient for you).
Also, if you know of anyone within our community who is ill or home bound and would like visitors, please be in touch with Richard Dukas;firstname.lastname@example.org; 201/417-7730.
Invite prospective and new families for a Shabbat meal!
As new families visit and join our shul, we would like to welcome them and help them meet shul members. If you'd like to be among the hosts (or would like to be hosted), please e-mail Daniel Moskovits at email@example.com or call 917-328-7163.
