Celebrating 25 Years Of Connecting Urban Youth With Nature
Eagle Eye Institute

Celebrate With Us!
25 Years of Eagle Eye

This year, we recognize the 25th anniversary of Eagle Eye Institute. If you are a past participant, youth leader, intern, volunteer, or supporter, please join the EEI Alumni Facebook group, where you can connect with fellow alumni and stay up-to-date with current programs and volunteer opportunities. If you have not already, please like our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter and Instagram where we will be sharing old photos, alumni bios, stories, and memories of past programs. If you would like to share an anecdote or reflection about Eagle Eye, please email us!

Spring Youth Programs

We are in the midst of planning a Learn More About Forests program with Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center and a Learn About Forests with Paulo Freire Social Justice School of Holyoke. During the 1-2 day programs, youth get an in-depth experience in nature, learning about forest ecology and gaining outdoor skills, such as camping and trail building. Due to budget constraints at the school and a desire to nurture a growing relationship, EEI is absorbing the cost of the LAF program for Paulo Freire. If you would like to help us sponsor a youth, please donate using the Paypal button on our homepage: http://eagleeyei.org/.

Please Welcome Our New Staff!

Cassandra Pastorelle
Cass received her B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature and Environmental Science from Tufts University in 2012. Through a civic engagement program at Tufts, she interned at Eagle Eye for two years and loved her experience. She lives in Vermont, working at a small vegetable CSA in the summer and teaching Spanish in the winter. Cass is building partnerships to increase Eagle Eye's capacity for programming in Western Mass as well as coordinating youth programs and the 25th anniversary Alumni Gathering.

Rebecca Sirull
Rebecca is a fourth-year communication studies major at Northeastern University. She first got involved with Eagle Eye through an advocacy writing class and was inspired to continue working with them after the semester ended. She grew up getting lost on nature trails, jumping in leaf piles, and munching on gorp, and she loves being a part of an organization that helps others have those experiences too. Rebecca is assisting Eagle Eye with the development and implementation of our social media strategy.

Save the Date!

Our 25th Anniversary Celebration and Alumni Gathering will take place on Saturday August 6th and Sunday August 7th at MountainStar Forest in Peru. All are invited who are excited to reconnect with fellow alumni, recharge in nature, and contemplate our next 25 years of engaging urban youth in nature everywhere!
