Is it really the end of another term?! Now is the time to take a breath, relax and take stock of everything you've done. And whilst you've been working your butts off in LCC's studios, libraries and lecture halls, your elected officers have been busy representing you. Here are their reports...

Your Welfare Officer, Scarlett: I've been focusing on all things mental health, running a Mental Wellbeing Week with workshops on self-care, mindfulness and yoga, and releasing the SUARTS Wellbeing Zine - a resource that has been wildly popular (don't worry if you missed out, I've ordered more!). I also organized 'Cerebral: an Exhibition on Mental Health' (pictured above). Earlier this month we staged a student die-in demo at CSM to draw attention to the lack of counselling, whilst issuing a statement statement to UAL demanding that mental health be prioritised - I'll keep you posted on the outcomes in summer term!

Your Activities Officer, Summer: I've been working on creating a handy guide to putting on your own exhibitions, set to be the one-stop-shop for all the know-how you'd EVER need. Stay tuned for its release in coming weeks - in the meantime check out our current showcasing opportunities and get your work seen by the world.

Your Education Officer, Bee: I've been calling on UAL to address its long-standing attainment gap, where black and ethnic minority students are less likely to get a 1st or 2:1 compared with their white peers. The issue has been taken up by student campaign UAL SO WHITE, and together we're lobbying the university to take action. I also spoke about Black Blossoms, the initiative I've launched for black women to celebrate their achievements, at TEDxUAL.

In the summer term we will be focusing on your wellbeing, supporting you through your end of year shows and assessments, and celebrating your many achievements. If you have things you want us to focus on, please get in touch.
Have an awesome Easter
& we'll see you soon!
Ana, Bee, Scarlett & Summer
