Understanding Easements
Instructor: Randy Mayhew

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Get the basic tools you need to deal with easements in the process of listing real estate for sale and performing due diligence when representing sellers and buyers.

This course will kick off with a brief discussion to help agents understand easements and how they should limit the scope of service to marketing issues. The course will primarily cover basic law of easements, including definitions, how easements are created, how easements are terminated, and the scope of easements.  The class will discuss and analyze key easement practices and concerns and approaches to due diligence requirements. We will also review recent developments in easement law.

This course is approved for 4 credit hours of continuing education for real estate brokers and salespersons in Vermont.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • To review the basic law of easements
  • To identify common misunderstandings and pitfalls among agents relating to easements
  • To develop appropriate listing and marketing strategies regarding easements
  • To develop due diligence skills as buyer representative regarding easements

9am – Crown Point Board Meeting
9:45am-2:15pm –  Understanding Easements class (includes lunch break and lunch!)

CPR Certificates to be Awarded at Sept. 21 Membership Meeting

Last month, CPBR members were given the opportunity to get their certification in CPR, following the CPBR Smart Talk class. Congratulations to the six Realtors® and one affiliate member were completed the class and earned their CPR certification. The certificates will be handed out at the CPBR membership meeting on Sept. 21.
