Thank you for championing the Autism Puzzle Walk & 5K! Your support helps the Autism Society of Nebraska work toward creating a better future for so many Nebraska citizens living with autism!

The Autism Puzzle Walk is only one day of the year but because of to the community support that you helped rally around the Nebraska autism community we are better equipped to provide a lifeline for so many individuals and families throughout the ENTIRE year.

We have sorted through hundreds of photos and created quite a tribute for this special day! Please come visit our photo gallery at our web site and experience the fun again!


This was the fifth year for the Autism Puzzle Walk and much like everything in our lives; it is a work in process. To help us determine how we can better serve you, please take just a few minutes to complete a brief survey about your experience with the Autism Puzzle Walk. We will be having a post walk wrap up meeting on Monday, May 14th from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. The Autism Center of Nebraska has again graciously allowed us to host our meeting at their building located at 9012 Q Street. We will be providing pizza, breadsticks and pop so please RSVP online at We look forward to talking about what worked and what did not as we prepare for 2013!

Here are a few things that your support will help us accomplish in 2012!

With $100 the Autism Society of Nebraska is able to...

  • help one family or self advocate attend the two day annual State Autism Conference in April
  • help an educator attend an autism specific workshop to help them better serve their students
  • provide a scholarship to help a family cover a therapy, medication, respite or conference fee
  • help a teacher support their student with autism through an Autism Society Classroom Grant

With $250 the Autism Society of Nebraska is able to...

  • cover lodging  and registration for an individual who has to travel to attend the state autism conference
  • help a local support group provide an autism friendly event for their community (some examples include pool parties, barbecues, Easter Egg hunts, Holiday parties etc)


With $500 the Autism Society of Nebraska is able to...

  • help provide a start up kit to launch a new support group in a Nebraska community
  • allow the Autism Society of Nebraska to partner with other advocacy organizations on community building events such as bully prevention or disability awareness


With $1000 the Autism Society of Nebraska is able to...

  • enable the Autism Society of Nebraska to continue to expand their advocacy and outreach through online community listservs, web site, and their Newsgram email that spotlights programs and services that will enhance the lives of their community
  • allow the Autism Society to continue to expand their advocacy and outreach by developing program grants that assist local businesses in creating autism specific programming to better serve the autism community
