TFP Publishing Trends - November 2013

Welcome TFP Friends,

As we move into the end of 2013, the scramble is on to close out publishing projects for the year, and to plan for bigger, better, and faster initiatives for next year. Publishers' biggest questions: First, how can I produce more, in less time, more efficiently? And second, how can I do more digitally, and what do I need to change, fix, or rethink in order to do that better? Two of our top stories this month—on the new OpenEFT publishing standard, and on our new Media Metrics blog—are great openers to those conversations.

And have you been following just how much social media is driving referral traffic to publisher's websites? Publishers are starting to be less concerned about SEO these days and turning their focus to SMO—social media optimization. If you haven't been tuned in, check out this month's TFP Pinterest Roundup, where you'll see that Pinterest now tops Twitter as a traffic driver.

Enjoy the final months of the year, and have a great Thanksgiving!

Warm Regards-
Margot Knorr Mancini, Founder & CEO
