BuzzFeed’s Tasty food channel is providing the model for its fast-growing video business. With a multi-platform, multi-channel distribution strategy, the media outlet is expanding its ability to cross-promote content, an attractive feature for advertisers.

Virtual reality was the focus of several publishers’ NewFronts presentations—especially given Facebook’s and YouTube’s push to build 360-degree videos into their platforms.

Adobe is buying Livefyre, a maker of audience engagement tools. The company plans to integrate Livefyre into Adobe Enterprise Management and Adobe Marketing Cloud.

Subscription rate discounts—now sometimes more than 70%—are having a big impact on magazine newsstand sales, according to a two-year MagNet study.
