Notes from your Librarian:

  • I just can’t believe that December is here already! Santa’s elves came down from the North Pole and decorated the library for the Holiday Season and it’s full of sparkle and cheer. Come down and see your library â€“ all decked out for Christmas!
  • In December our Wednesday morning story hours will all be holiday themed. We’ll be doing Christmas crafts, having fun snacks, and Santa will be here to see the kids on December 16th. We love the holidays here at the library, and the library staff wishes all of our patrons the happiest of holidays!
  • The library staff is still fund raising for your new library this month. We have a beautiful quilt to raffle called Wandering Star, donated by Gerrie Pavon. Tickets are currently available to purchase at the library in Red Bluff: $1.00 each, 6 for $5.00, or 12 for $10.00. They’ll be sold throughout the month and our raffle will be held on the 31st. of December, just in time for the New Year. All proceeds go towards your new library!
  • Don’t know what to give the little ones this year? Give the gift of a book and start them reading at an early age. I have a special Christmas tradition that I do with my grandchildren each year called the 12 Books of Christmas. I buy twelve paperback Christmas books for them and wrap them in pretty paper with ribbons. On each one I put a tag with the date starting with December 13th. They get to open one every night before Christmas and mom and dad read it to them as the night’s bedtime story. The kids love this very special time, (and little do they know), I’m instilling the love of reading in them and giving them a gift they can open again and again. ïŠ You can get a variety of inexpensive paperback books from Scholastic or the Dollar Store with holiday themesSo, start a new tradition in your home this year; the 12 Books of Christmas is a winner for the entire family!
