Some Spooky Stats for the 3rd Quarter
As the 3rd quarter ends, we see a much clearer picture of how our local Real Estate market has done so far in 2018. The big question at this moment is whether the typical fall slow-down is going to continue into 2019? There just might be some hidden numbers that suggest exactly that. Time Magazine Names Two Colorado Cities as Best Places to Live in America
In a recent article from Time.com, a Top 50 List of Ideal Places to Live in America included two local cities. They are Highlands Ranch, CO which is "undergoing an economic boom", and Broomfield, CO, home to "over 8,000 acres of open space and 280 miles of trails." The qualities that were considered in order to qualify as one of the best places to live were their unique combination of "economic growth, affordability, and quality of life." What an awesome boost of national attention for these towns!
Boulder Makes National List of Top Luxury Markets
Boulder County is #4 in the nation in Realtor.com's top 20 list of the fastest growing luxury markets in the U.S. "Of course, what's luxury in one area is commonplace in another. The index actually analyzes the entry-level luxury price tier, or the top 5% of all residential sales, in 90 counties. In 50 of those counties, the luxury tier starts at $1 million. Some markets have higher starting prices: San Francisco’s is a whopping $3.3 million." Here in Boulder the Luxury mark starts at $2 million. Another interesting point made when "rounding out the top five counties for fastest-growing luxury home prices [the top markets] are Santa Clara, CA (14.5%), Boulder, CO (13.6%), and Collier, FL (13.4%)". If there are more local options for luxury buyers, what's left for the average buyer in a place like Boulder County?
Take your Halloween Decor to the Next Level
It's time to bring out the decorations, and "if you've been tricked into trotting out the same tired Halloween decor year after year, we have news for you: You can spruce up your home in ways that are spooky and elegant at the same time." Don't worry about looking tacky with these tips from Realtor.com. One cute suggestion is to "Try ditching the carved jack-o'-lanterns for a more stylish and sophisticated fall look. Create a refined pumpkin patch feel up your stairway with gourds and candles, or evoke an organic fall landscape." I love how Halloween is our first opportunity to bring out the seasonal decorations!
