Reappraised Homes in Boulder County

What do the reappraisal values in Boulder County mean for you as a homeowner? Homes have increased in value from 13-30% from 2016-2017 and this will likely impact homeowner taxes. As we all know, Boulder County is "a sought after place to live," where competition over homes is high, and inventory is low. Managing Broker DB's Interview on how we are Pushing People Out of our Communities
The Boulder County housing market is seeing the negative impact of the expensive cost of living and lack of inventory. DB Wilson, RE/MAX of Boulder's Managing Broker was interviewed on KGNU radio about this issue this month and said, “Kids and youth and families make a community vibrant, but they’re being edged out of Boulder...One of the things we’re seeing in the City of Boulder is the aging of the population.” This unfortunately is "resulting lack of diversity – in terms of racial, ethnic and cultural diversity, socio-economic diversity, and diversity in age." The question everyone has is: what can we do about this? DB says what's needed are "government programs to get more people into housing, such as down payment assistance." That and getting "involved in our local government" and hopefully the urgency of this issue will become more widely recognized. Listen to the full broadcast by clicking HERE
