Sunflowers for Ukraine
Sunday, May 15, 2022
11:00am - 1:00pm
Why sunflowers? In better days, Ukraine raised millions of sunflowers and exported 48% of the worlds sunflower oil. The sunflower is an enduring symbol of the country.
On Sunday, May 15, we will serve a light lunch in the Sunday School area after worship. There will be stations set up in Quist Hall for all ages to make paper sunflowers. We will have patterns and supplies to make the flowers, and plenty of crafty helpers to answer questions.
Our hope is to come together in recognition of Ukraine's humanitarian crisis, encourage prayers, and collect donations for Lutheran World Relief. They have feet on the ground with medical assistance, food, shelter, and refugee protection programs.
Please join us, and tell your friends. This event is open to the public. A suggested donation of $10 per adult includes crafting supplies and lunch.

Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, near the Cal Poly Campus, is looking for a dynamic custodian to take the place of our amazing custodian who is retiring after 13+ years, and who claims “this was the best job I ever had!”
We offer a part-time, 30-hour work week with paid holidays, sick, and vacation time. You’ll work with amazing, friendly, helpful co-workers and volunteers from the congregation. You will get to work outside and inside the church using your skills to maintain the safety and beauty of the property for church members and the San Luis Obispo community who use the facility.
