ADULT FORUM Sunday Morning, 11:00
In preparation for Get On The Bus, Special speaker Katie Grainger, former Chaplain volunteer and Children’s Program Coordinator at CMC, will be on hand to tell about her experiences with GOTB at the Men’s Colony.
Once again this year we are able to bring a bus full of excited, a bit anxious, but happy children from Riverside, CA to CMC to visit their dads. This annual event will be on May 18 this year, and for some children, this may be the only time they get to see their dads. After their visit at CMC, the children and their chaperones will come to Mt. Carmel for a party and a chance to relax before they get back on the bus to return to Riverside. There will be ice cream sundaes and games, but mainly your friendly faces to greet our guests and make them feel welcome.
There are nine buses full of children coming from all over California. Mt. Carmel, Mountain Brook and Mind Body will be hosting parties for all of them. We have been blessed to support the Riverside bus for the past eight years, and over that time have been able to hear many beautiful stories. We have seen some children not return to Get on the Bus, as their dad has been released and has returned home to the family he has gotten to know through these visits.
This all takes your time and your donations.Information about this program and how you can get involved is available in the narthex. Contact Nancy Priddy at 805-459-9249 with any questions.

Love To Learn Preschool
Christ Has Risen! We will begin the study of the four Synoptic Gospels this Sunday. What Gospel is the oldest? Who wrote them? Why are they the same story and yet very different? What does Matthew 1:22-23 say? Come and share your "Blessed to be a Blessing" project and bring your Celebrate Guide, Luther Handbook and Bible.
Wisdom for Graduates
Calling everybody older than high school students! I'm looking for your pearls of wisdom! We have a bunch of high school seniors set to graduate in the next month and a half, and we want to send them out into the world as prepared as possible! So I'd like you to ask yourselves: What do you know now that you wish you had known when you were leaving high school? Please email your thoughts to Monica at firstname.lastname@example.org, or write them down and either put them in the CAT box in the office or hand them to me at church. I will compile them and get them to the high schoolers.
Thanks in advance!
