Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, near the Cal Poly Campus, is looking for a dynamic custodian to take the place of our amazing custodian who is retiring after 13+ years, and who claims “this was the best job I ever had!”
We offer a part-time, 30-hour work week with paid holidays, sick, and vacation time. You’ll work with amazing, friendly, helpful co-workers and volunteers from the congregation. You will get to work outside and inside the church using your skills to maintain the safety and beauty of the property for church members and the San Luis Obispo community who use the facility.
Does this pique your interest? Contact the Parish Administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 805-544-2133.
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all who came out and supported the Ukrainian Refugee Relief fundraiser on May 15. Many thanks also to those who couldn't be present, but sent donations.
49 people attended (ages 6-97!);
56 sunflower kits were assembled, and 10 more were taken home;
60 hot dogs were served and lots of salad was consumed;
More than $1,500 was raised!
Thanks to the generaosity of Thrivent Financial, every penny raised will go directly to the Poland/Ukraine border for medicine, food, shelter, and refugee protection.

MT CARMEL’S EASTER BANNER AND PARAMENTS
I THINK THAT OUR EASTER PARAMENTS AND EASTER BANNER ARE JUST BEAUTIFUL AND I HAPPEN TO KNOW WHO MADE THEM SO I MADE A PHONE CALL TO HER AS I FELT THAT THERE HAD TO BE A “STORY”TO GO WITH SUCH BEAUTIFUL WORK.
SOME OF OUR OLDER PARAMENTS WERE NOT TREATED WITH “RESPECT” AND MELINDA MONTEEN AND BETH PETERSON TOOK IT UPON THEMSELVES TO DO SOME “HOUSE CLEANING” AND TOOK PICTURES OF THEM AND REALIZED THAT SOME SHOULD BE REPLACED AND ONE OF THE VERY LAST ONE’S THAT THEY CHOSE TO REPLACE ARE THE ONE’S THAT ARE ON THE ALTAR EACH EASTER SEASON. MT. CARMEL HAD NO FUNDS TO UNDERTAKE SUCH A TASK SO BETH GOT BUSY WORKING ON THIS MOST UNDESIRABLE TASK. ( IT’S NOT WHAT YOU KNOW BUT WHO YOU KNOW). SHE FOUND FUNDS SOMEWHERE AND WE WILL NEVER KNOW WHO OR HOW SHE DID IT – BUT SHE DID IT !!! STARTING WITH $300.00 MELINDA PURCHASED THE FABRIC AND DESIGNED THE PARAMENTS AND THE BANNER – OILED UP HER SEWING MACHINE AND STARTED THE PROJECT. THEY HAD A DEADLINE- EASTER WAS 6 WEEKS AWAY, COULD SHE DO IT? SHE TRULY DOES NOT KNOW HOW SHE DID IT BUT HER DETERMINATION AND A LOT OF PRAYER , SHE DID IT!!
TIL NEXT TIME THIS IS JEANIE SCHULTZ OF MT. CARMEL ALTAR GUILD SIGNING OFF.

The cupboards at Iglesia Santa Cruz are critically low on non-perishable items! They are in dire need of:
MASA ~~ RICE ~~ FLOUR ~~ OIL
We'll gladly do the shopping if you perfer to make a cash donation on Sunday.
If you prefer to donate to the matching funds challenge by check, make your check out to the SLO County Food Bank. Write Mt. Carmel Matching Funds Drive on the memo line so that your donation will be properly credited. Mail to:

Please do not route your food bank donations through Mount Carmel. Doing so will delay your donation and make tracking the matching funds challenge donations difficult for the food bank.
