You are invited to join with members of our conference churches for the Fall Bishop’s Gathering with Bishop Guy Irwin. We’ll begin with a shared meal, so please call the church office to RSVP, or sign up at the ministry fair on Sunday.
Saturday, September 14
10:00 - 12:00
Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church will be offering an Acolyte training for all 3rd-6th graders on Saturday, September 14th from 10am-noon in the church sanctuary. This is a part of the Children and Teen Ministry at Mt. Carmel which provides spiritual opportunities and support for families, children, and youth from baptism through high school.
During the 2 hours we will learn:
What an acolyte does in assisting worship
the different names for areas inside the church (Narthex, Sanctuary, Altar, Pulpit, Lectern, and Baptismal Fount.)
Who prepares, blesses, and administers the bread and wine for communion
About the Eternal, Paschal, Epistle, and Gospel candles and stain glass windows
How to use a candle lighter, change wicks, light and extinguish candles
I hope you will consider having your youth participate in this session to learn more about Acolytes, church worship, and Milestone Ministry at Mt. Carmel.
There will be another Training date scheduled for those who cannot make this Saturday. Please contact John Keisler for the alternate date at 805-543-4259 or email@example.com.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING Sunday, September 29 - 10:45 am
Please join us for a congregational meeting following the worship service. The purpose of the meeting will be to consider the following motion: “The Mt Carmel Lutheran Church congregation gives powers to the Church Council to complete negotiations with an entity to be formed by Arpad Soo, Tim Rhonda, Brian Starr and their respective spouses as principals for sale of a portion of the Mt Carmel Lutheran Church property based on the tenants of the current Letter of Intent dated August 14, 2019.”
