Adult Ed Survey Results
The Adult Education Teams thanks congregation members for their enthusiastic response to our recent survey on Adult Forum topics. For info, all four of the substantive areas drew favorable responses as follows (number of selections in parenthesis): Speakers from services in the SLO area (18), Forums on issues like discipleship, stewardship, etc (15), Discussions on specific books of the Bible and Bible studies (16), Planning events on our mission and vision (12).
In response, we have planned the following tentative Adult Forum schedule thru Easter to include each of the topic areas:
Feb 2 – Video “Imprisoning A Generation” (Issues)
Feb 9 – Tour of the new Love To Learn facility (Local Services)
Feb 16 – Speaker from Food Bank (Local Services)
Feb 23 – “Do It Yourself Transfiguration” (Bible Study)
Mar 1 – Church Council communication session (Mission and Vision)
Mar 8, 15, 22, & Apr 5 – Lenten Series “Discipleship Is Not an Option” (Issues)
Mar 29 – Church Council Exchange – Could include Call Process/MET, Upper Parking Lot or other planning topics (Mission and Vision)

Sunday, Feb 2, 3:00pm
LuMin Campus Ministry invites you to a Super Bowl party. Game time is 3:30 but you’ll want to come early to get a good seat. Food and beverages provided.

“Vote” for you favorite Super Bowl team (San Francisco 49ers or Kansas City Chiefs) by bringing a non-perishable food item to benefit the local homeless shelter/food pantry. Put your donation in the box of the team you want to see win. The fullest box/team “wins”, and the food benefits those in need.
Community Building Team
Monday, February 3 @ 6:30 pm
Do you have some ideas on events you might like to see at Mt. Carmel? Come to the Community Building Team meeting at the Priddy’s home. The purpose of this team is to create events—different events for different ages, or events that include all ages—with the goal of the congregation to grow in our relationship with each other. These are a great opportunity also, for bringing folk who are not already a part of Mt. Carmel, into the community. Sound interesting? Join us and see if you want to help. RSVP – Nancy Priddy – 805-459-9249.

Construction is finally complete on the new preschool building! Kylee Davis, director/owner of Love to Learn Preschool, invites everyone for a special tour of the new building after church. This tour will fill the Adult Forum time.
Thanks to everyone who helped with the Dave Becker concert last Sunday whether playing, contributing, helping set up, serving or bringing refreshments, making up flyers and programs, or being at the concert.  Thanks to your help, we raised $4,040 to be distributed to the San Luis Obispo High and Jr High Band Boosters, and the Morro Bay High and Jr High Music Boosters. We received  recognition e-mails from Dr. Eric Prater, Superintendant of the San Luis Coastal School District, and Dr. Jim Brescia, County Supervisor of Schools. Special thanks to Dave Becker for an amazing concert!
