A Blended Service
Sunday School/Adult Education Hour:
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Monday through Friday
We’re now in the midst of the season of Epiphany. In the gospel
readings for this season we hear the story of the beginning of
Jesus’ ministry, including the calling of the disciples. A common
theme in these stories is that the disciples respond to Jesus voice
saying “Follow me.” An anonymous writer suggests that we, too,
are challenged to listen and discern God’s voice calling out to us.
Many voices speak to us.
We are torn in many directions
to whom should we listen?
Which voices are the right ones?
How do we hear the voice of God in all the noise?
Help us, God, to listen with our hearts,
To open ourselves to your voice:
a voice that forgive us when we do wrong,
that calls us to serve others,
that invites us to use our own voices
to challenge injustice in our world.
Speak to us, God.
We are listening.
