AME DAY IN ANNAPOLIS - Tuesday, Feb 18

Meet Bishop Davis and other AME clergy and members for AME Day in Annapolis this Tuesday. 

Parking: Visitors can avoid the city’s busiest parking locations by parking at the Navy- Marine Corps Memorial Stadium lot or Park Place Garage located at One Park Place on West Street. Park Place is serviced daily by the free Circulator. The stadium lot is serviced by the State Shuttle route ($2 fare), with a regular schedule from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The service frequency is every 20 minutes.

Gwen Ifill was among the first African Americans to hold prominent positions in both broadcast and print journalism. In 2013, she became co-anchor of the "PBS NewsHour", part of the first all-female team to anchor a national nightly news program. Ms. Ifill was a member of Metropolitan AME Church (DC). Her father, Rev. Urcille Ifill served as the General Secretary of the AME Church from 1988-1991. Her brother, Rev. Earle Ifill, recently retired from the active ministry in the Atlanta North Georgia Conference and is the immediate Past President of the Connectional Presiding Elders' Council. Her cousin, Sherrilyn Ifill, is the director of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
