Bereavement Notice - Sam Snipes

Please keep Markas Snipes and family in prayer during the loss of his father, Sam Snipes. Sam was one of the first 100 members of Adams Chapel. While at Adams Chapel, he served in various capacities including Vice Chair of the Trustee Board, member of the Inspirational and Brotherhood Choirs and a past Chair of Men's Day. He was funeralized on Tuesday, February 4 in at Bell-Yeager Freewill Baptist Church in Durham, NC.

US POSTAL SERVICE ISSUED GWEN IFILL BLACK HERITAGE FOREVER STAMP ON JAN. 30

Gwen Ifill was among the first African Americans to hold prominent positions in both broadcast and print journalism. In 2013, she became co-anchor of the "PBS NewsHour", part of the first all-female team to anchor a national nightly news program. Ms. Ifill was a member of Metropolitan AME Church (DC). Her father, Rev. Urcille Ifill served as the General Secretary of the AME Church from 1988-1991. Her brother, Rev. Earle Ifill, recently retired from the active ministry in the Atlanta North Georgia Conference and is the immediate Past President of the Connectional Presiding Elders' Council. Her cousin, Sherrilyn Ifill, is the director of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
