Christopher Columbus High School has always fostered three distinct traditions: the pursuit of academic excellence, the heritage of Catholic education, and the unique spirit and mission of the Marist Brothers.

Columbus opened in 1958 with just two and a half buildings and an enrollment of approximately 150 students. The Marist Brothers assumed the direction of the school in 1959, under the leadership of Principal Br. Benedict.

The Nov. 6 general election brought a number of changes to the Palmetto Bay Village Council that likely will affect future actions on some key issues as well as ongoing policies. Three “new” council members will be sworn in on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m., in the Village Council Chambers. All were elected by a wide margin of votes. MIAMI SUNSET HIGH SCHOOL PARTICIPATES IN INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION PROJECT
 
During the summer of 2018, Miami Sunset’s Hospitality Management and Information Technology program engaged in a significant opportunity by collaborating with Russian high school students to better improve tourism globally. The project was sponsored by Russian Federation, U.S. corporation Global Initiatives Inc., and Moscow State Technical University. In addition to improving tourism, the purpose of the project was to emphasize the importance of STEM skills and how it can be applied to the challenges of the workforce, in this case being tourism.
