A record crowd of 225 people gathered at the Rusty Pelican for Gilded Lilies fashion show luncheon on March 25, all to benefit Easter Seals of South Florida. Kudos to Gilded Lilies President Gloria Perez and President Elect and Luncheon Chair, the amazing Shelley Daniel, whose mother was one of the founders of this group. The affair featured a silent auction, a raffle, and a Chico’s coordinated fashion show with Easter Seal students modeling along with Gilded Lilies members. One example is General Electric’s move to relocate its global headquarters to Boston from Fairfield, Connecticut last year largely due to the area’s available tech talent despite the high cost of living. In Miami, a qualified workforce helped keep global aviation distributor KLX Aerospace Solutions here rather than relocating to Memphis or Phoenix. Miami’s ability to attract and Read More »

WESLEY FRATER’S TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS TURNS 25

The more you learn about Wesley Frater’s Tournament of Champions (TOC), the renowned nonprofit that revolutionized youth sports in South Florida, the less it seems to be about sports at all. Rather, it’s about life.
