Flying through the Season

Time waits for no-one.  I remember creating my last newsletter a few months ago looking forward to all the exciting shows.  Now I reflect on an amazing summer season.  I've had some really fun shows and met some lovely people during my travels.  From having to prove I was an entertainer at Tunisian immigration,  to standing in front of hundreds of soul fans supporting Billy Ocean, The Real Thing and Heatwave it's been quite an adventure this year.  It was also a fun challenge trying to watch the world cup tournament on the many travels.

I did manage to find a little time to do some admin over the summer.  audleyanderson.com has a fresh new look for the new year
Team Crete 2014,  I've been very privileged to work with this bunch of awesome people this season at the wonderful Sensatori Hotel.  Thankyou guys for helping me to grow as a performer. Special mention to Jack, Chris and Tom who really got creative.  Thank you team Ive learn't a lot.  And the feel good Friday crew, thanks for making sure I didn't get bored! I'm now very clued up on greek cuisine mezze!
With so much traveling flying and driving,  the main issue with my amazing adventures is fatigue.  I try to rest as much as I can , keep hydrated and swim regularly.  It is also very important to keep my diet healthy and eat at sensible times.  Keeping the vocals lubricated with warmups and scales is also very important. Ignoring these will result in my system reacting..... badly!!
Tunisian Security Checks? Every so often in the adventure something unexpected crops up.  A trip to Tunisia,  passing through immigration,  I was stopped and bags checked.  When they came across my equipment, they wanted to confiscate or charge me duty.  I explained I was a singer / performer and my Mac was required for work, the officer asked me to prove it!! I literally had to sing for the officers and other passengers.  I kept looking for the hidden video camera crew to come out laughing.  On the plus side I gained a few new supporters and signed some autographs!
Thank you !!!

The travelling, really would be lonely without the virtual support, every message received gives that extra bit of energy.  That's the reality of my amazing job, even though I have hundreds of people around me at times it can feel quite isolated and a bit lonely.  So far Ive counted 60 flights this year and growing, and I still get that excited feeling when I get on a plane! A sincere thankyou to those that have shown their support.

Denny Curtis / Dennis 'Dad' Foster

Sadly with heavy heart at the beginning of the year I said a final goodnight to one of my mentors Dennis Foster.  A singer originating from Trinidad who had a No 1 record with "Crying over you" and came to the UK. Dennis was part of a vocal group called the Southlanders in the 60's. He also opened up '4Star' Barber Salon  in Thornton Heath in the late 80's and used to cut my hair when I was at school.

Through a series of events in 2003 Mr Foster indirectly put me on my Journey into soul when he started me performing in Spain.  I really do miss our talks about the old days and our ongoing debate about the music business in general.  Until we meet again 'Dad Dennis' sleep well.
