Peatland ACTION - lessons learnt
Since 2012 the Peatland ACTIONProgramme has supported restoration of over 10,000 ha of peatland.
ClimateXChange researchers in the James Hutton Institute studied the information that was gathered through the process, and captured lessons that could learned as Scottish Government sets new challenges for restoration under the draft Climate Change Plan.

Public Engagement with Energy System Change
With a draft Energy Strategy out for consultation this report on how the public is engaging on changes to the energy system is very timely.
The research draws on current thinking on public engagement with science and technology issues and a survey from the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC) on Public Values for Whole Energy System Change.
Inviting proposals for fellowships - adaptation and economics
We are inviting proposals for three fellowships in climate change adaptation (two posts) and economics(one post).
The fellowships are awarded on a one+one year basis initially.
Technologies that can support Scotland’s Energy Efficiency Programme
We have started three landscaping studies of technologies that can support delivery of Scotland’s Energy Efficiency Programme.
The tree studies, which have been commissioned simultaneously, will include heat generation technologies, energy efficiency (retrofit solutions to buildings), and smart energy solutions. The reports will consider technologies against a suite of criteria including Technology Readiness Level (TRL), cost-effectiveness, carbon reduction and economic benefit
Peter Zeniewski has taken up a CXC fellowship assessing the implications of European energy policy for Scottish and UK energy system transitions.
