March has been an exciting month at Positive Impact! The Year of Sustainable Tourism is now a quarter of the way through and we are on our way to achieving our 2017 targets. Read more about our fantastic results in this newsletter.
This month's theme is 'what does gender equality look like in the events industry?' We have two blogs resulting in a very busy month! Allied PRA wrote a great blog about Gender Equality in the Events Industry and our very own Fiona Pelham wrote a blog to celebrate International Women's Day. They both highlighted the importance of respecting and offering fair treatment to women in the workplace and reflected upon how they implemented it within their work environment. We also have two interviews from SITE and MPI who discuss our theme further.

This Year, Positive Impact is telling the story of the power of events during the UN Year of Sustainable Tourism.

What does Gender Equality look like in the events industry?
This month, we asked Allied PRA to write a blog post in relation to our theme of the month, "what does gender equality look like in the events industry?" Annette Gregg's blog post gives suggestions on how to prevent inequality within the events industry, with a further exploration into how she encourages good practice within Allied PRA. Read more here.
To celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th this year, Positive Impact spread the message of female equality on our social media platforms. Reaching a whopping 4,779 people!
We also encouraged women to share their stories on how they make a positive impact in the world, helping us towards our goal of 1000 examples for our Girls Creating Campaign! One of these stories was from our very own Fiona Pelham. Her International Women's Day Blog shares personal experiences and highlights the importance of empowering women.
Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate this day. Let's make a positive impact and create equality!
We think telling our story through the power of events is an essential for creating a sustainable events industry!
