February has been an exciting month at Positive Impact! The Year of Sustainable Tourism is in full swing and we are on our way to achieving our 2017 targets. Read more about our fantastic results in this newsletter.
This month's theme is 'what is the role of events in creating responsible consumption and production in the world?' 5 Gyres wrote a great blog about Marine Plastic Pollution, highlighting the importance of knowing where our excess production is being dumped and the damage is it causing to the environment. We also have two interviews from Future Fit and VMware who discuss our theme further.
If you want to get involved in writing a guest blog or participate in an interview, don't hesitate to send us an email - email@example.com
We look forward to hearing from you!
2017 United Nations International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development
This Year, Positive Impact is telling the story of the power of events during the UN Year of Sustainable Tourism.
Last month, we hit all our monthly targets for the Year of Sustainable Tourism. We now have 119 Ambassadors on board and are excited to work with them to tell the story of the power of events and to promote our campaigns such as #shareapositiveimpact!
We smashed our target of '20,000 people educated' and within the first month reached 77,211 people! Check out our full UN report to find out more about our success!
We are a not for profit so telling the story of the power of events is only possible with your support.
We are telling the story of our sponsors sustainability journey on Twitter during the UN Year of Sustainable Tourism. We are always retweeting Sustainability news from our sponsor Visit Switzerland! Follow us on Twitter to keep up to date!
Become an Ambassador
Do you want to tell the story of the power of events?
We are looking for more ambassadors who will receive materials to share with their local communities. If you are passionate about sustainability and would like to become more involved with our campaigns, this is a great way to do so!
As part of our series of telling the story of the power of events during The Year of Sustainable Tourism, we spoke to Edward Perotti from VMware. What is the role of events in creating responsible consumption and production in the world?
This month, we asked 5 Gyres to write a blog post in relation to our theme of the month, "what is the role of events in creating responsible consumption and production in the world?" 5 Gyres' blog post encourages event professionals to go #plasticfree by refusing the top five sources of single-use plastic: bags, bottles, to go containers, cups and straws. Read more here.
Become a host in our 24 hour global campaign, #CSRshareday! On the 21st April, share stories of people who are making a positive impact on sustainability in the world and share best practices and creative ideas to inspire others. To find out how you can get involved, click here.
