The people at Shepard have just redesigned this event so that more people can come and enjoy it. Now, for just $45, you'll get the following:
  • A keepsake copy of the gorgeous, expanded (all hardcover) Second Edition of The Gaza Kitchen: A Palestinian Culinary Journey.
  • The chance to mingle with and hear a little from the authors, Laila El-Haddad and Maggie Schmitt-- and have them sign your copy of the book.
  • A drink and some light dips or fingerfoods from the book's rich repertoire.
  • The chance to stay on and purchase a full dinner from Shepard's menu, which will include a couple of key dishes from the book along with other fare.
Laila and MaggieOn October 25, Laila launched this new edition of the Gaza Kitchen cookbook with a fun "Facebook Live" video event that attracted more than 1,700 viewers. In mid-November, she will be joined in United States by her co-author on Gaza Kitchen, Maggie Schmitt. (The photo shows Laila and Maggie at a presentation they did when the first edition of the book came out, in 2013.)

The Shepard's wonderful event on November 16 is presented by James Beard Award-winning chef/owner Susan Regis and chef de cuisine Peter McKenzie, using recipes from The Gaza Kitchen. It will be your opportunity to experience some unique Palestinian culinary treasures and to meet and mingle with the authors.

Laila and Maggie will be visiting Boston as part of an east-coast tour. In Washington DC they'll be speaking at the Library of Congress. In New York, they're joining renowned British-Israeli chef Yotam Ottolenghi at two ticketed dinners organized by The Met Museum.

Those "Met" events sold out in mid-August! Maybe some of your New York friends would like to come to Boston for the Shepard dinner, instead?

Hurry on over to the event page to reserve your space for this unique cultural experience! Tell all your friends about it, too!
