Welcome Hayley and Natalie

We are delighted to welcome two new consultants, Hayley Burwell and Natalie Ciccocioppo, to the Hughes PR team. Hayley began her career in creative advertising at the UK’s Telegraph Media Group leading on from communications for the charity London Youth and most recently working at the AusSMC. Natalie has public relations experience spanning the corporate and not-for-profit sectors including the arts, destination marketing, tourism, and major events, most recently as the Communications Manager of Advantage SA.

Insight to Adelaide’s future form

Consultancy principal Tim Hughes joined 30 members of the SA development industry and State and Local Government representatives on a 16-day tour of key European cities in late May.  Under the microscope in London, Manchester, Stockholm, Malmo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Rotterdam were major urban renewal projects, new and infill increased density projects and products transport infrastructure – all of which will help shape delivery of the 30 Year Plan for Greater Adelaide.  (View some of the projects on our Flickr page)

Greg Norman’s first SA course now opened for play

Australian golfing legend Greg Norman’s first course design in South Australia officially opened for play earlier this month.  Described as a “challenging yet forgiving course”, thousands of golfers are expected to tackle the first nine holes of the new Copperclub golf course at The Dunes Port Hughes on the Yorke Peninsula in the coming months. The second nine holes are currently in planning, with major construction set to start next year. Read more

Congratulations to the Hansen Yuncken Consortium

The SA Health Partnership - a consortium comprising Hansen Yuncken, Leighton Contractors, Macquarie Capital Group and Spotless – has reached financial close with the SA Government to deliver the new Royal Adelaide Hospital (nRAH) Public Private Partnership project. Hughes PR client Hansen Yuncken will be responsible for design, construction and commissioning of the new hospital in a 50:50 joint venture with Leighton Contractors. We look forward to continuing to support Hansen Yuncken with its communications across the next stage of the project. Read more

SAHMRI brings world class medical research to Adelaide

An exciting development in health care was revealed this week as the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) announced its core themes of Cancer, Heart Disease, Healthy Mothers, Babies and Children, Nutrition and Metabolism, Mind and Brain and Infection and Immunity.
