Welcome Sam Hardy

Sam joined the Hughes team earlier this month with over 15 years’ experience both in-house and within agency environments behind him. 
 
From his previous base in London, Sam has worked globally across a range of sectors including technology, renewable energy, mining and commodities. 
 
Sam spent his third week with us in China, meeting with major Chinese energy businesses and discussing international media engagement.  Find out more about Sam.

CCT's thermal battery launch

Thermal energy could hold the key to cheaper, more sustainable electricity; with South Australian company CCT Energy Storage unveiling the world’s first working thermal battery on March 27.

Known as TED (Thermal Energy Device), the battery accepts any form of electrical input to convert and store energy as latent heat – making it versatile, affordable and long lasting.
 
The Lonsdale-based business will supply at least 10 TED units to commercial customers this year, with production expected to increase to more than 200 units by 2020.
 
Hughes has been working with CCT Energy Storage to provide PR and social media support during this exciting time in the company’s development.  

Upcoming workshop: Instagram for Business

Hughes Social and Digital Media Consultant Haley Tamblyn will run a one-hour 'Instagram for Business' workshop at Unley Library in April. 

The session will cover the strategies and secrets behind successful Instagram accounts that stand out while achieving their business goals. 

The Instagram for Business workshop, hosted by Unley Libraries, is perfect for small business owners and people responsible for business or brand social media accounts.

Case study: Mitani Classic Chicken Salt

Hughes created an overarching creative concept under the strapline of 'Season and Savour'.

The concept was designed to lift Mitani’s brand personality and be consistently applied across all digital and social media. All the visual elements of the concept were developed to align with the revamped product packaging.

Hughes’ in-house videographer researched and developed a unique visual style for the videos with influences from videos hosted on popular sites and channels like Buzzfeed Tasty and Delish.

In addition, Hughes designed a new consumer facing website, and developed a social and digital media strategy for Mitani Chicken Salt to further build its online presence through organic and paid activity. View the full case study.
